Jr. Library celebrated Book Week at GD Goenka

DEC 03, 2019 JAMMU: G.D Goenka Public School Jammu, governed by Om Prakash Bansal Charitable Trust, organized a “Book Week”. The purpose of celebrating this week was to imbibe the valuable role played by the School Library to transform an individual into a polished reader. The primary wing (III to V) conducted a plethora of activities to celebrate the importance of books and diversity of rich literature in it. For class V, Hanging making activity was conducted in which little Goenkans inscribed several titles of their favourite books on the hangings. For class IV, “Spell-a-thon” was conducted with the aim of encouraging the children to pay heed to spellings and their pronunciation. For class III, “Book Bowl” activity was conducted wherein little Goenkan champs displayed their love for books. The entire week was inaugurated by Bhavana Jamwal (Primary Wing Coordinator) wherein she added to the morale of the children. An icing on the cake was a major attraction when Ajit Narayan, a renowned author and a cartoon artist graced his presence. Rajesh Rathore, the Principal of the school extended a warm welcome to the distinguished guests and also expressed his immense love for books and creativity.
